  • Manchester's Finest Designers, Makers and Creators: MADE HERE

For one day only, Manchester's iconic London Road Fire Station will be host to pop-up design festival, Made Here - a free show case of local designers, makers and creators. All welcome!

    made-here-swifty-scooters

This Grade-II listed building has stood abandoned since 1986, when it became too expensive to run as a busy fire station, bank and a coroner’s court. Bought by Allied London last year, the building is soon to be rekindled as a fully functioning Manchester landmark. MADE HERE is the first event initi...

"I never go anywhere without my Swifty"  Kirstie Allsopp August 2015

You may have seen Kirstie scooting around Cambridge during her recent episode of Location, on the telly last week. • STUFF Magazine September 2014

    STUFFsept2014SWIFTY

"Hang around on the rush-hour streets of London for long enough and you'll see a grown-up wearing a suit and riding a micro-scooter. These die-hards are doggedly continuing a city craze whose time has passed. Or so it seemed... The demand for squeezing every minute out of the day has not abated, while the fashion for artisanal transport has never been stronger, and these two have combined to form a resurgence in the commute-scoot. With bigger wheel...

Scooters have a bit of a bad reputation as a must-have hipster accessory (think Nathan Barley) but I have to admit that the new SwiftyONE Chrome from Jason and Camilla Iftakhar might break the mould. Firstly it’s beautifully designed and made – sleek and stylish. Secondly, it’s robust enough to make you feel like you are actually using something built for adults (rather than ironically using a child’s toy) and yet it only weighs 7.5kg.
