All Scooters FAQ

How do I choose the right scooter for me?

All of our scooters are designed with inclusivity in mind, meaning that we have a scooter for the whole family. We have a choice of both kick scooters, in addition to our award-winning electric scooters, both designed with versatility in mind. Their impressive features include 16-inch pneumatic wheels to keep you sturdy on the bumpiest of rides and a lightweight, fluid build that makes them ideal for urban commuting. Our scooters also feature some different colourways, with the option to customise your scooter. When in doubt, take our quiz to figure out the best scooter for you, or consider speaking with our friendly team and finding the right model for you over a consultation.

Are scooters safe?

Yes, scooters and electric scooters are safe, especially with the safety features and innovation that Swifty brings to every one of our designs. Our scooters have key design features that make them some of the safest modes of light transport in the world. Each one of our scooter models has 16-inch pneumatic tyres, a legal top speed limit of 15.5mph and a long wheelbase, allowing a secure and obstruction-free ride. Scooters should always be driven with the local laws and regulations in mind to maintain the safety of the rider and surrounding pedestrians. This includes driving only on privately owned lands and wearing protective gear, such as helmets.

How can I keep my scooter safe?

Keeping your scooter safe starts with having the correct equipment to do so. When keeping your scooter outside during the day, it is always recommended to secure it with a lock. You can find our favourite security models in our accessories. Additionally, it would also be a good idea to secure your scooter within the same vicinity as other electric vehicles, such as bikes or other scooters. These areas tend to be brightly lit in public spaces.

Our scooters have an adaptable fold and roll mechanism, meaning they are light enough to carry and small enough to store away during the day, no matter if you’re at home or at work. We would also recommend storing your scooter indoors at night. While our scooters are waterproof, for the best possible longevity of your scooter, we would recommend storing it inside.

How much does it cost to run an electric scooter?

Once you have bought your scooter including all of your essential add-ons, the cost of running a scooter is minimal. Each one of our scooters highlights the running cost in the specifications, aka the cost to charge the electric scooter's battery. The SwiftyONE-e for example, costs 10p per charge, with a full charging time of 4-5 hours. This full charge will achieve a 25-mile range. When compared to the average cost of petrol for this distance, it is significantly more cost-effective, not to mention the reduction in CO2 emissions.
